Little Giant Creative

Funded by the Knight Foundation and created by Little Giant Creative (now JEME Agency), A Dream Deferred used art, technology and media to tell the story of how race and policy shape the landscape of Philadelphia and the lives of its residents. The exhibit was open to the public for a two-month period in the fall. Thicket Labs was hired to work with agency staff and a team of community-based artists and advocates to support “A Dream Deferred” with audience research and impact reporting at community events and throughout the exhibition.

Summary:

We started by supporting the marketing and outreach team with insights and guidance on ways to build their audience to maximize their impact. Our online quiz platform supported preliminary audience research to gauge the target audience’s familiarity with exhibition concepts at community events.

We then designed visitor surveys to be distributed to exhibit visitors to measure impact and collect qualitative feedback. We collected surveys from over one-third of the estimated audience with questions that covered all exhibition components.

Among other insights, we found that 81% of visitors were more likely to take one or more actions in their community because of seeing A Dream Deferred.

A final report including audience data and feedback was delivered for use with funder and public communications.
